We worship to remember God’s goodness toward us, look and listen for God in word and song and silence, and be inspired to become the people God wants us to be: people who care for others and for ourselves because God has touched us. Our hope is that our hearts and our minds are both fed in the worship service.
We sing songs and hymns and choruses, listen to scripture and modern words, look at paintings and photographs and video clips, pray words written in the weekly order of service and words that come from our hearts, and spend some time in quiet so that we can step away from the constant noise which surrounds us. All the parts of worship are chosen to be part of a coherent theme for the morning.
Worship lasts for an hour, perhaps a little longer the first Sunday of the month when we celebrate communion.
Following worship we gather for coffee and conversation.
