Please send names and addresses of students in college and those doing post graduate work to firstname.lastname@example.org or call the church office at 952-935-3025.

When Shakespeare needed a word he would make one up. For example: addiction, bedazzled, belongings. Paul seems to have done the same with the word we translate as “goodness” in Galatians 5. It appears nowhere else save 4 uses in Paul’s letters. The word is derived from a Greek word referring to exemplary moral excellence.
In my mind, Paul’s call to practice goodness stands in interesting tension with the blunt statement of Jesus in Mark 10: “Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.”
Realizing that no one is “perfect,” I still think it is useful to have models and examples to copy. Do you have people who have shown such “goodness” that you wished to be as they are?
May the light of God give us hope and the Power of God protect us.
May the light of God give us joy and the Peace of God calm us.
May the Light of God give us faith and the Grace of God fill us
this day and forevermore. Amen.
