Paper Shredding Fundraiser to Benefit VEAP
THANK YOU, Partners in Shredding!
On October 11th, Chapel Hills UCC in Edina combined forces with ShredRight4Good by sponsoring a neighborhood paper-shredding event to benefit VEAP Food Shelves. It was a picture-perfect fall day, and the mood was both joyful and appreciative. Who knew shredding could be so much fun?
Working together, we:
-
Helped 108 folks dispose of sensitive documents safely;
-
Raised $3,395 and 233 pounds of food for VEAP; and
-
Shredded 4,400 pounds of paper that will not go into our local landfills.
Chapel Hills volunteers promoted the event with door-hangers and social media posts, directed traffic, unloaded boxes and sacks of shredding, and processed donations of cash and non-perishable food. This event is a wonderful example of how churches can serve their surrounding communities through effective partnerships with other organizations. We are stronger together!
